Job summary
Amazon is looking for a high-judgment, self-motivated, and creative professional to lead the About Amazon websites in APAC — the authoritative voice of Amazon. This role is on Amazon’s Owned Content and Channels team within Worldwide Communications. The Sr. Manager will lead content producers and editors who work on About Amazon in the APAC region, and will work closely with stakeholders across the company, including the editorial team, global owned channels teams, PR partners, and technical teams.
This position can be located in Japan, India, Singapore, or Australia.
Key job responsibilities
**Strategy**: Develop and implement the owned channel content strategy by looking at content, SEO, and traffic analysis.
**Execution**: Oversee the production of editorial content and campaigns for About Amazon sites in APAC. Manage projects for both the day-to-day news production and longer-term special projects and campaigns. Work closely with tech and product teams to implement and test new features for the site.
**Partnership**: Act as a strategic partner to PR teams, editorial teams, and tech teams to guide all stages of web and content strategy.
**Measurement & Evaluation**: Working with channel owners, set goals and implement cohesive measurement plans to understand program success. Make real-time program adjustments based on results.
**Experimenting & Scaling**: Experiment with story and page formats, develop best practices, and create playbooks and toolkits to make our global work more consistent and efficient.
About the team
Experience working in roles that required deep understanding of APAC markets, especially India, Australia, Japan and Singapore
Ability to exercise high judgment in narrow time-frames
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Project management, editorial planning, and/or digital media experience
Self-driven, entrepreneurial spirit—enjoys taking responsibility and making things happen
An understanding of the technical elements of a CMS and the ability to work collaboratively with a product team to improve the website
Demonstrated ability to operate successfully across multiple groups and business owners; comfortable working in a collaborative environment
Proven track record of strategic planning and delivery on significant digital content campaigns tied to measurable business, brand, and/or communications goals
Experience with a public company, ideally a large and well-known brand; comfortable managing highly-confidential announcements
Experience supporting event coverage or breaking news announcements
Ability to work autonomously across numerous projects and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where change is constant
Experience working with global teams and flexibility in work schedule, as role will require occasional evening / weekend support
Fluent in both written and spoken Japanese.
