Epsilon is a global telecommunications business with $60m+ revenues, providing network, colocation and voice services. Its customer base is comprised of telecommunications carriers, channel partners and enterprise customers and it operates in Asia, EMEA and the US. Epsilon was acquired by KT Corporation, Korea’s largest telecommunications business, and Daishin Private Equity in September 2021. The rationale for the acquisition was to support KT’s ambition of growing its business outside of Korea.
The priority of the business is to develop its data business to focus on services which help its three customer types interconnect between their premises, data centres, public clouds and Internet Exchanges. These interconnection services will be complimented with SD-WAN and advanced security services and delivered via a combination of Epsilon infrastructure and technical partner services.
Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the Epsilon Leadership Team (ELT), the CFO will oversee all finance functions including financial planning / analysis, accounts payable / receivables, reporting, tax and audit. Additionally, the CFO is responsible for Legal / Compliance Team and the Carrier Management / Procurement function.
The CFO’s role is to align Epsilon’s financial strategy to support Epsilon’s ambitious goals, including improvement areas around systems and processes. The CFO will work closely with KT on reporting and planning to ensure information and insight is shared efficiently to support the business.
The CFO will manage a team of around 33 staff globally based in Singapore, Sofia and London.
**Responsibility**
- Provide leadership, as part of the ELT, in the continuous evaluation of short
- and long-term strategic financial objectives to track what is working and what needs to be changed.
- Oversee the finance and accounting functions, including preparing Board materials, annual financial planning, monthly performance reporting quarterly forecasts, regular cashflow reporting and analysis, annual audits and tax in accordance with local / international accounting standards.
- Provide hands-on, metrics-driven financial leadership to Epsilon and the global finance team, accelerating growth and profitability.
- Provide commercial governance over sales, in cluding commission schemes and the opportunity profitability approval processes.
- Act as a thought leader by providing both financial and operational insight and perspective to the CEO and Leadership Team
- Oversee the implementation of risk management, compliance, and internal control practices.
- Ensure that Epsilon complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Partner with Sales, Product, Network Teams and Customer Experience Teams to identify revenue opportunities; expansion prospects; analysing operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement.
- Support the CEO with special project as required.
**Requirements**:
- At least 5+ years of senior financial management experience in a telecommunications or managed services business
- Preferably Korean speaking as the role required to work closely with Korean counterparts, bridging the gap
- Experience working in Korean MNC with good understanding of Korean culture
- Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance
- related issues across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience in managing a geographically dispersed team
- Strong interpersonal skills, effective communicator that can engage with all levels of a multi
- cultural organization
